Trivet Tasting Club: Argentina
Stretching from the high-altitude vineyards of the Andes to the cool, windswept landscapes of Patagonia, Argentina is a country of remarkable geographical and climatic diversity. Its vineyards are shaped by dramatic differences in altitude, intense sunlight, low rainfall, and the influence of the Andes, creating conditions that allow grapes to ripen with concentration while retaining freshness, structure, and character.
This tasting will explore the diversity of Argentine wine through a selection of wines that showcase both the country's iconic varieties and its increasingly dynamic approach to fine wine. From the aromatic freshness of Torrontés to the elegance and complexity of high-altitude Malbec, guests will discover how Argentina has evolved far beyond its reputation for rich, fruit-driven reds.
The evening will explore some of the country's most important wine regions, from the traditional vineyards of Mendoza to the high-altitude landscapes of Salta and the cooler southern vineyards of Patagonia. Alongside the classic expressions that have established Argentina on the world wine map, the tasting will highlight producers placing greater emphasis on altitude, soil, freshness, and a sense of place.
The menu, created by Jonny Lake and Belen Aloisi takes inspiration from Argentina's rich culinary traditions, bringing together carefully sourced ingredients, bold flavours, spice, freshness, and seasonality. Each dish has been thoughtfully designed to complement and enhance the distinctive character of the wines served throughout the evening.
Guests are invited to join us for a walk-around tasting from 17:00 to 19:00, offering an opportunity to explore a wider selection of Argentinian wines before the evening's seated tasting.
Join Isa Bal MS afterwards in the Mustard Room for an evening celebrating the wines and food of Argentina.
Tickets are priced at £175.
